Foals Continue Squad Building With Record Breaking Transfer

Bundesliga News: Gladbach acquire Kleindienst from Heidenheim

Foals continue squad building with record-breaking transfer

Kleindienst signs for the Bundesliga giants

Borussia Monchengladbach have signed forward Tim Kleindienst from 1. FC Heidenheim, the club announced on Tuesday. The transfer fee is reported to be in the region of €12 million, making it Heidenheim's record sale.

Kleindienst, 28, has been with Heidenheim since 2017 and has scored 57 goals in 166 appearances for the club. He was a key member of the Heidenheim team that won promotion to the Bundesliga in 2021 and helped them maintain their top-flight status last season.

The German striker is expected to provide competition for Marcus Thuram and Alassane Plea in Monchengladbach's attack. Gladbach are looking to improve on their 10th-place finish last season and have already made several signings this summer, including Ko Itakura from Manchester City and Christoph Kramer from RB Leipzig.

Kleindienst is excited to join Monchengladbach and is looking forward to playing in the Bundesliga again. "I'm very happy to be a part of Borussia Monchengladbach," he said. "It's a great club with a great history and I'm looking forward to playing in front of the fans."
